Comment Policy

The best way to keep learning and growing is to have intelligent, respectful conversations even when opinions differ. I encourage these discussions through comments on individual posts. However, to ensure that your comments will enhance and not detract from the intent of this blog, the following comment policy has been created and will be enforced on Real World BA™.

Guiding Principles

I appreciate knowing that you agree with or enjoy a particular post; however it is much more valuable to know what you specifically think. What part in particular did you like and why? What did you disagree with? What do you want to know more about? Adding relevant and value-added comments contributes to the overall value of the information. But please also be concise.  I hope that what you read is thought provoking, but please keep your comments succinct and to the point – chances are more people will read them anyway.

I also read every single comment, and do my best to reply or respond within a reasonable timeframe. This is a discussion after all, and I appreciate the time you take to read and comment.

This blog is written in English and comments are expected to be in English as well. Each person reading this site may have different experiences, preferences and opinions; and the sharing of those ideas are respected and expected. However, language that is perceived as attacking, harsh or profane is not allowed nor will it be tolerated; and any comment perceived as such will be removed.

First Time Comments

The first time you submit a comment to any blog post, your comment will be moderated. That means that it requires review and approval prior to appearing on the site. I work to review and approve comments within 24 hours (most of the time much sooner), but please do not resubmit your comment if it does not appear right away.

I’m always on the lookout for other great information, but please only include relevant links to the topic covered in the post. If the link you include is irrelevant, or spam, it will be removed. If you include more than 2 links, your comment will require moderation. Excessive or irrelevant links will be removed at my sole discretion.

You are free to use a signature in your comment, but not required. You can add your website’s link in the designated URL box and your name will be automatically hyperlinked for you.

Subscribing to Comments via Email

If you would like to be notified of additional comments added to the post after yours, please ensure you use a valid email address and check the “Notify me of follow up comments via e-mail” checkbox. You will not be subscribed to the mailing list as a result of entering your email address here, and you can change your settings at any time by visiting the comment subscription manager.

Editing Comments

I reserve the right to edit or delete comments at my sole discretion. This is not intended to stifle the discussion or sensor your feedback, but may be necessary for a variety of reasons. If modifications are made, they will be noted at the end of the comment. At no time will I attempt to alter the core meaning of a comment.

Comment Ownership

You, and only you, are responsible for your words. That means that you are responsible for ensuring that your comments are your own and do not infringe on the rights of others including their copyright. However, by posting your comments to the blog, you are granting me the right, in perpetuity, to use, alter, and/or display them however I see fit. This could include, but is not limited to, modifying the comment and/or quoting it in a future post or publication.

Abuse of the Comment Policy

Repeated abuse of any portion of this comment policy will result in the permanent banning of the offender from future comment posting.

This comment policy may be updated without notice, so please review this policy occasionally if you have any questions.
